After testing the tg3 module on this nick, I found that the card did send a dhcprequest, but does not receive the answer Broadcom has released a GPL driver, with driver both for 2.4.24, and for 2.6.0
it is availible from http://www.broadcom.com/drivers/downloaddrivers.php I did a added the patch to the debian kernel, but the package remains untested. I have tested the packages on a 2.4.24-10.00-custom kernel, and it works fine.
