Definitely.

At least how to replace bundled kernel with your own one (what needs
to be compiled in) - see chapter tech-info in the b-f manual. Much can
be copied from debian-installer/doc/docbook/kernel-policy.xml.

If you know any other customization which has positive impact on
installability, go ahead and write about it.
