Package: base-installer Severity: normal Tags: d-i Sometimes, base-installer updates the progress bar to say "Validating %s". If the install language is not English, this is untranslated too.
It doesn't always happen. So far I think it only happens when installing from a businesscard CD image. Even then, it does not happen for all the debs on the image. I've seen it put the package name in properly for some, and then display %s for one, and then go back to putting in the package name for others. My guess is that this is a problem tickled by something in the debootrap progress stream, and that it has to do with the wget progress data it displays. base-installer becomes confused, and is not able to find a template, and displays the fallback template, and also has a bug subsituting the %s with the parameter. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux dragon 2.4.23 #1 Wed Dec 17 13:50:20 EST 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US -- see shy jo
