This could be fixed by checking to see if a menu item is already configured, if so then have main-menu reconfigure it. The seen flag should then be entirely ignored. The only problem then is that if a menu item is run, fails, and is run again, it is dpkg --configured, and so anything it displayed prior to failure will not be re-seen. Also, things like hw-detect and retreivers that use debconf still need to mess with the seen flag as they may re run over and over in non-reconfiugured mode. -- see shy jo
