Install Problem

Hello,  I'm trying to install the i386 version of Debian which I downloaded at linuxiso.org.  I downloaded all 7 discs, and booted up the computer I'm working on with the first disc.  The boot screen came up, so I hit <ENTER>.  It went through some detecting and other processes, then ended in:   Freeing unused kernel memory: 72k freed Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000000 current->tss.cr3 = 00101000, %cr3 = 00101000 *pde = 00000000 Oops: 0002 CPU: 0 EIP: 0010: [<c412800e>] EFLAGS: 00010292 eax: 00000000    ebx: 00000000    ecx: cf450000    edx: 00000000 esi: cf451020    edi: cf455b90    ebp: cf453160    esp: cffdbf70 ds: 0018    es: 0018    ss: 0018 Process swapper (pid: 1, process nr: 1, stackpage = cffdb000) Stack: [a bunch of hexadecimal sets here, I can get them if it's important to solving my problem] Call Trace: [more hexadecimal, see above] Code: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00   I also got an error in about the same place that said:   Kernel panic: init not found, please supply init= option   But I haven't been getting that error any more for some reason, just the null pointer one.  I'm trying to get some sort of Linux on my computer so I can get away from Windows, but after trying to install RedHat 1000 times and failing, I thought I'd try a different flavor of Linux.    System Specs: 333 MHz AMD Processor 256 MB SDRAM 6 GB hard drive 32x CD-ROM drive 32 MB video card   If you need any more information to figure out what's wrong, let me know and I can try and get it.  Any help towards what might be wrong would be appreciated!   Thank you, - Jesse Gunsch
