partconf exits immediately after a partition is selected.
Is this really partconf? I see the same behaviour in partitioner on powerpc. It exits after I select a disc to partition. It's because of the wrong path to archdetect. I fixed this bug in CVS, but had no time to test it, so I didn't ask to make an upload. There is a similar bug in kernel-installer.

P.S.: I have never seen this bug in partconf. It would be nice if you could provide some more information on your environment to track it down.
