Hi, Is anyone actively working on this bug? If not, I'll take it up.
There are currently ~3.9 MB of net driver modules in the 2.4.20 kernel. To ensure support for all cards requires that they all be packaged. To put them on floppies, there will require 3 floppies of drivers; the usual nic-modules-*-udeb, and ~3 more nic-modules-extra-[123]-*-udeb udebs, all under 1.4MB to comfortably fit on one floppy (documentation would list which one you need). I'm contacting rom-o-matic.org as mentioned in the report, to draw up a list of which drivers should go in which module (in order of popularity); any objections or better ideas? Similarly, while we probably won't support booting from firewire (ugh.), we should have a firewire modules udeb, to support firewire cdroms, disks, etc. I'll draw up the patch for Herbert Xu if nobody else is doing it. regards, Alastair -- Alastair McKinstry <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> GPG Key fingerprint = 9E64 E714 8E08 81F9 F3DC 1020 FA8E 3790 9051 38F4 He that would make his own liberty secure must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself. - --Thomas Paine -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
