Ok, I believe the problems reported in this bug report are fixed by the
patch recently submitted for slang1.

I think I missed the beginning of this thread, but I was commenting on
bug 191636, which I believe should be closed (as in, no _grave_ problems
exist in whiptail). If not, I'd like to know.
