Hello alltogether, After your call I did some testing for the sparc boot floppies. I have a Sun SparcStation 4, connected to PC via serial tty. I use minicom for control. I tried installing from disk-images and tftpboot. In both cases I had only one major problem in handling dselect (I did not run tasksel). I traced it down a little and produced bug report #181394.
Directly in boot-floppies I did not find any errors. Yours, Wolfi
