Package: installer
Version: woody
Severity: important

I startet setting up a debian-box. The hardware was completely resetted,
so the system date pointed to 1999. Installing the base system resultet
in it failing due to to many 'timestamp in future' errors.
I think the installer schould get from the install source the most
recent date somewhere, either of the filedate of an install-file or
through an extra file, and afterwards prompt the user if it should
correct the system-time to avaid these errors.

Sorry, but the installer won't fail just because of the wrong system
data. Tar will throw a lot of warnings, but it has right, and it won't
make the installation fail.

Gruss/Regards,
Eduard.
