Only offers partitions that parted reports as ext[23] for mkfs or mount stages, which means you must tell parted to create filesystems (mkpartfs) as parted identifies partition types by analysing partition contents. May need to look at raid and lvm flags later. Works for GPT tables, not tested MSDOS.
