Thanks a lot, John. Is there any plan to integrate this functionality into the standard grub packages, or create a separate grub-splashimage package for example? As much as this sort of thing is in excess of the more technical provisions of grub, users of other OS's are familiar with it - which is to say, in making a switch, they would miss it. Integrating it seems to me to be an easy way to add familiarity to what is to many linux newcomers a foreign OS.
