Hello all,

the use of win32-loader was defaulted to false in the live-build images on Wed Aug 10 08:00:08 2022 +0200.

Its git commit message refers to
https://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/2022/08/msg00035.html

The sentiment back then was to remove win32-loader as well.

A quick search
https://codesearch.debian.net/search?q=win32%5C-loader&literal=0
shows that win32-loader is mentioned in the following packages:

debian-installer -> mentioned in debian/control as a dependency
neurodebian -> enabled (in the config for squeeze)
live-build -> disabled per default
libgpg-error -> builds a special Windows version just for win32-loader
libksba -> builds a special Windows version
aptly -> mentioned in a test
nsis -> mentioned only in changelog
npth -> builds a special Windows version
localechooser -> mentioned only in changelog
gnupg1 -> mentioned only in changelog
installation-guide -> mentioned on obsolete translation strings
libgcrypt20 -> builds a special Windows version
win32-loader -> duh!
clonezilla -> calls to live-build with win32-loader disabled
gzip -> mentioned only in changelog
debian-handbook -> Mentioned in chapter 4
libassuan -> builds a special Windows version
open-infrastructure-system-tools -> enables win32-loader when an installer is present
gnupg2 -> builds a special Windows version
debian-cd -> has some code left

So a removal would need additional bug reports + patches for:
debian-installer
debian-cd
debian-handbook

With kind regards,
Roland Clobus
