Package: debian-installer Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I had to install debian using the audio-based installation and I'd like to contribute feedback. The audio-based installation came in handy because I had to install onto an older machine that happened to be unable to display the BIOS and/or natve CLI via DVI/HDMI. I am not visually impaired. In parallel, I ran the exact same installation on a virtualbox. However, controlling the installation using keyboard (German) and ear phones (instead of a monitor) was quite an experience. Here are my two opinions: 1) The hotkeys aren't read aloud most of the time. The engine appears to silent ?, < and >. I suggest to replace them by j, f (and d for example). j and f are the two keys that have a little physical bump on many layouts. Impaired people will find them quickly. 2) Having to use a Germany keyboard, I had to web search for the english keyboard layout to know what key woul d repeat the current question. I suggest to move the question about the keyboard layout up a little. Thanks for your efford!
