Hello Steve, No special setup installed on the system, but searching for the kernel command line used to boot, find that on disk boot command line use boot=UUID= ... ro quiet with Kernel and init.rd So I try to boot media with adding petitboot entry: selecting : /dev/sdb (the USB device) Kernel: /install/vmlinux Initrd: /install/initrd.gz Boot arguments: root=/dev/sdb/ ro quiet
And it work fine, I'm sorry didn't find it before by-myself. It worked for Debian 10 without root device, since Debian 11 it's needed I'll get new SSD and will make installation report, for 11.6 and bookworm Thanks lot for your help, Best regards Olivier
