Hello, This really is a question for debian-boot, not debian-accessibility.

This system is a > bios > based system booting from the internal DVD burner. I downloaded this image > [1] > https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/unofficial/non-free/cd-including-firmware/ > 11.0.0+nonfree/amd64/iso-dvd/firmware-11.0.0-amd64-DVD-1.iso so if the > firmware > existed in earlier images why not this one? It is there, inside firmware/firmware-iwlwifi_20210315-3_all.deb I guess debian-boot will like to see /var/log/syslog from inside the installer, e.g. by mounting a USB stick by hand to copy it over.
