The bad news is that our kernel configuration does not seem to provide the necessary bits to enable support for the Intel Audio DSP on Haswell U/Y and Broadwell U. I'm willing to provide a patch to fix this but the release of Bullseye is approaching really fast so we might have to wait for the first point release. > Tried installing Intel SOF drivers/firmware to no effect, forcing > snd_hda_intel > via modprobe conf doesn't work either > Broadwell-U works eith with HDA or SOF drivers theoretically. > There is record of a kernel compilation flag to enable SOF functionality > SND_SOC_SOF_BROADWELL_SUPPORT=Y breaking legacy and snd_hda_intel too. We do not support SOF on Broadwell. This is even not recommended by upstream due to some limitations related to DMA and suspend-resume so installing firmware-sof-signed is of no use in your case.
