Hmm, if that's the case, then I do think it is a good idea to include and activate by default eatmydata. debian-installer must, however, be selective when using eatmydata; for example, it should be disabled when using partman, to avoid cases like that presented above. If it works only when doing the Debian installation per-se, which is the most slow process, then there is nothing to lose. Two days ago, I was trying to install Debian on a USB stick. I think it took around 4 hours. It would be better to install it a lot faster without having any real added risk. -- Time zone: GMT-4
