I have seen the same problem. It is because the driver for the DVD locks the DVD when processing the files and does not unlock it when it asks for the volume to be swapped. The workaround is to use a paper clip to manually release the media tray for the DVD/CD device. It is a small hole in the case near the DVD Eject button. Barring that if the device is an External device, cycling power on the device will release it. When you put the new media into the tray, it will recover the loss of power condition after you issue the next I/O request by answering the Swap message. It appears this message has been out there a long time
