However, it is impossible to install from either a pre-mounted or instmnt partition. An error comes up as soon as the installation folder has been selected, stating: Cannot read /floppy/image.txt: Invalid argument. When the OK button is pressed on this dialog, another with the same message replaces it, at least 20 times. The only way out is to pull the plug, I think. I checked the /floppy mount in vc 2, it looked ordinary. mount shows /dev/loop0 is mounted on /floppy, type ext2 (ro). ls -l /floppy gives (abbreviated, and the permissions look appropriate): 4467 config.gz 1123 debian.txt 1527 install.sh 1261262 linux.gz 12288 lost+found 881 readme.txt 126757 sys_map.gz 7 type.txt When I tried cat /floppy/debian.txt or cat /floppy/type.txt, I got cat: read: input/output error so it could list the files but couldn't read them. I was getting these type errors in vc3 also. -- System Information Debian Release: 3.0 Architecture: powerpc Kernel: Linux iMacBlue 2.4.16-newpmac #1 Mon Jan 7 20:51:25 EST 2002 ppc Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C --------------------------------------- Received: (at 135626-done) by bugs.debian.org; 16 Mar 2002 22:09:44 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Mar 16 16:09:44 2002 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from murphy.debian.org [216.234.231.6] by master.debian.org with smtp (Exim 3.12 1 (Debian)) id 16mMMx-0000Z1-00; Sat, 16 Mar 2002 16:09:43 -0600 Received: (qmail 3399 invoked from network); 16 Mar 2002 21:32:56 -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO voicetrak.com) (64.212.15.37) by murphy.debian.org with SMTP; 16 Mar 2002 21:32:56 -0000 Received: from iMacBlue [10.1.1.249] by voicetrak.com [64.212.15.37] with SMTP (MDaemon.PRO.v5.0.4.R) for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Sat, 16 Mar 2002 14:29:32 -0700 Received: by iMacBlue (sSMTP sendmail emulation); Sat, 16 Mar 2002 14:30:36 -0700 From: "Chris Tillman" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Sat, 16 Mar 2002 14:30:35 -0700 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Solved Message-ID: <20020316213035.GA245@iMacBlue> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.3.27i X-MDRemoteIP: 10.1.1.249 X-Return-Path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-MDaemon-Deliver-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This bug seems to have been solved.
