FWIW I'm still running stretch but having schroots around to build
whatever needs built in a different environment is rather fine. ;)

I don't think you could realistically double check what happens without
hacking your own (possibly partial) archive since priorities in packages
are still overridden on the archive side…

I've noticed those problems thanks to questions from Nicolas on the
#debian-release IRC channel, that's what got me interested in latest
tasksel versions.

Thinking about this change a little more, even if we were to publish D-I
Bullseye Alpha 1 right now, which will be tested to be working… I think
once ftp-masters update their overrides, this will break the published
Alpha immediately.

Instead of rushing a change right now (it's been months without a
release already), I think I'll ask them to postpone updating their
overrides until we're up for an Alpha 2. Which means we'll have a clear
breakage at the timing of our choosing, a way to double check the
effects of the bug, and to ensure proposed patches do the work
appropriately, instead of implementing things blindly in a hurry, right
now.

Possible timeframe for another Alpha: once a newer major kernel version
hits testing.

Cc-ing the submitter back, since Ansgar was requesting the change but
might also end up being the one pushing the buttons on the ftp-master
side.

Cheers,
