OK, so…
I did a standard install requesting encrypted LVM but otherwise accepted all
the defaults.
When it rebooted, it looped complaining it was unable to locate the VG
containing the root filesystem.
I rebooted from the CD in rescue mode and chose the chroot option. I told it
to mount /boot.
In the chroot, I ran “apt install cryptsetup-initramfs” and “update-initramfs
-u” then rebooted.
This time it complained only twice about not being able to find the VG with
root, but then it requested the passphrase to unlock the VG.
All was well after I supplied the passphrase.
So those two bugs, between them, seem to be the key.
Hopefully we can get this fixed soon?
Thanks, Cyril!
Enjoy!
