Unfortunately these are all out of support and there isn't a benefit to provide bootstrapping support for ancient Ubuntu derivatives in Debian. Thanks for documenting a workaround. FWIW, the right fix would be to just add lucid to the list of distributions immediately before the *) part where you commented out the problematic line. In that case the variable set and setup_merged_usr would simply be skipped. Kind regards Philipp Kern
