OTOH, this situation can happen. If he does not have a normal floppy driver or CD-ROM drive, and the BIOS is emulating El-Torito over PCMCIA, then there is a problem since we do not put any pcmcia stuff on the rootdisk. I suggest to create a small partition somewhere, format with vfat or ext2 and copy the drivers.tgz file on this filesystem. Keep the directory structure!
