Comments/Problems:
The installation was really tricky this time, brecause I tried to install on the
32-GB-Sandisk stick first (with blue LED), which was not workable. The Stick,
as mentioned
already earlier, also does not boot up any system on FSC Futro S500/S550, but
works with
HP-devices.
I even had the USB-key replaced against a new device at the shop I got it from,
but it
has clearly not been defective, but it is a general problem with
SanDisk-Ultra-USB3, 32
GB G2.
Then installation worked out on an older slower SD-card, it turned out, the
USB-ports are
USB 1.1 only, so you need some patience.
The PCMCIA-port even features something called the VIA-boot-agent, but it does
not work
for me with my PCMCI-CF adapter-card. The Installer also does not show the
CF-card in the
PCMCIA-cardreader, but once a minimal system is set up, the CF-storage is there.
So one would probably rather use a CF-IDE adaptor and have a CF-card installed
as an IDE-device
in order to install on this directly and boot from it directly, instead of
working around the non-bootable PCMCIA-cardreader with a separate
boot-partition on USB1.
Upon setting up a basic system, it is necessary to enable the non-free archive,
because
the ralink-WLAN-firmware will throw a non-recoverable error upon
desktop-install, if
missing. This may be a problem with network-manager.
Last but not least, there was no graphics-output, I report that separately
against
xserver-xorg-openchrome.
Apart from the issues reported this is the most cheap-shot notebook you have
ever met, and
all lovable at a price of about EUR 10,- (without power-supply).

This will most probably remain unfixed, it does not make much sense anyway to
use legacy
32-bit PCs as desktop, while there might be some charm to mobile thin-clients
or otherwise
antique laptops, because they have integrated displays. If you insist to
continue using
them, just use the VESA-graphics-driver, this should work.
