Package: installation-reports Severity: normal I've installed a Stretch system using the rc2 installer.
After a successful installation I had an empty /etc/default/rcS. Since initscripts (which owns that file) is no longer essential and installed by default, I guess there is a component in the installer which doesn't deal with that properly and instead of doing nothing if the file does not exist, it creates an empty one. -- Package-specific info: Boot method: network Image version: debian-stretch-DI-rc2-amd64-netinst.iso -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.0 APT prefers unstable-debug APT policy: (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (200, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system)
