Last Monday I went to update my testing distribution.
After a reboot I suddenly could no longer use my computer. For some strange reason I just noticed the terminal login and then started X and the screen stayed black. Unfortunately apparently the old method (ctrl alt backspace) to kill X no longer works so I could not check what went wrong.
When I went to a new install of my testing distribution I ran into the same problem.
All this occurred with a laptop TOSHIBA Skullcandy AMD A8 processor and Radeon graphics.
Now I Installed the stable distribution to have a functioning computer but I'd like testing back.
