This seems likely to me also. I have seen and reported both problems but they occurred in boot disks that I downloaded from different places. 1) came from debian/dists/woody/main/disks-i386/current/images-1.44/bf2.4 2) came from people.debian.org/~blade/bf2.4 on Feb 2. The same error occurs with either a network install or a local partition install.
