Hello, in the past i did several default Debian 8 with Gnome 3 installations without noticing the changed update behavior...
I was expecting, that regular users would be notified about available updates based on a daily apt update. I would suggest a configuration question ( or meta-packets via tasksel) to select the update behavior during installation. e.g. - check and notify (via GUI backend and/or via system mail) - unattended / push updates (important and/or regular) Respectfully, Hannes Edgar Schäuble
