Unfortunately on reboot the system hung, attempting to boot with quiet removed from the kernel command line showd the last userland boot message as "Starting LSB: Prepare console". Trying to boot in recovery mode also hung showing ata related messages about "security freeze lock" and "Device configuration overlay" being filtered out being the last things displayed.
