I'm attempting to install Debian to an NEC UltraLite VERSA laptop (12 MB Ram, 180 MB Drive) using 1.44 MB floppy disks. The laptop doesn't have a CD ROM.
Here is what the partition table indicates:
/dev/hda1
/dev/hda2
/dev/hda3
/dev/hda4
/dev/hda5
When I get to the "Install the Operating System Kernal and Modules" step, I get the following two dialog boxes (usually on the second driver disk):
Error
Error writing to output file: Success
Continue
File Error
There was a problem installing the Drivers from /target/drivers.tgz
Continue
I've tried using other disks (with a fresh driver-2.bin file), but can't
seem to get past these errors. Might this be a floppy drive
problem? Any help you can provide would be great. Many
thanks.Error writing to output file: Success
