Hello. I'm trying to boot a Debian 2.2r4 cd on a Compaq 1850R. Everything goes fine until:
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 02:00 I also downloaded disk images from http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/dists/stable/main/disks-i386/current/images-1.44/compact/ Same result with both sets of images on two 1850R's. Everything works fine on my Compaq 6400's, though. Is this a known problem? Any insight would be apprciated. Thanks for your time.
