Funny that gcc complains here and not in the di_info() and debconf_progress_start() calls a few lines before. From a cursory glance at the code (I'm no compiler), it looks like we only exit the while loop when ok has been set to non-0, which only happens at the same time link_waits is set. So I don't think gcc has detected a real issue here. Mraw, KiBi.
