Hi Andreas, Yes. It is a great idea to be able to choose your blend at installation time. Most of my machines are used for different purposes, and not to have to remember the name of a meta-package to install after the initial installation would be fantastic.
It is much easier to tell someone new to install Debian and select "Debian GIS" from the list, than to refer them to a wiki with post-installation instructions.
