It would be nice to tell us what the error actually was, otherwise it's a bit hard to guess. :-) Maybe you were trying to perform an installation without a network mirror and some dependencies weren't available on your installation medium? There might be some interesting logs in /var/log/installer/syslog; could you please check there, and possibly attach that file in a reply to this bug report? Mraw, KiBi.
