Bug#740073: netinst hangs on scanning CD-ROM

Hi,
I've been having the same problem for several days. I am trying to install
Debian 8 amd64 from the netinst image on an ASUS UL30A with both VMware
Player and VirtualBox atop Debian 7 and the installer stalls when scanning
the CD-ROM.
