Comments/Problems:
While going through the netinst setup for jessie/testing after selecting
the default source, a red error alert window comes up with: "The
repository on ftp.us.debian.org couldn't be accessed, so its updates
will not be made available at this time", and if one presses on it
appears once again. Restarting the whole process and choosing any of
several other repositories generates the same alert. However it doesn't
seem to affect the installation which went otherwise apparently fine.
And without changing the source from ftp.us.debian.org in the
sources.list updates seem to work. Therefore, it seems the alert window
might be in error somehow.

You're likely seeing this for jessie-updates and jessie-backports (which
should be mentioned in the said alerts). I've asked ftpmasters to create
those suites earlier today (even if empty for now), they should appear
in a few hours, and warning screens should go away.
