These lines are created, when you use these device to connect the internet during installation. On the other hand, they should be removed from the file, when for example network-manager-gnome is installed AFAIK (which seems to be the case here, since you talk about "Gnome indicator for network connections"). So the lines were not removed, but they should have been removed. Please provide us the installation logs from /var/log/installer.
