About the fix : As the name implies, it helped me to get the printer working, but was not the right/best way to do it. As I never used CUPS before (no need in squeeze !), I was confused when it was asking for username/password. I entered the name of the user for which I wanted print capability. Which was refused because not in lpadmin. And thus the mail "fixed : added lpadmin"
I should have logged as root and then add the printer ! So I thing there is no need to insert the first user in the lpadmin group, as C. Perrier objected/stated. However, there is a regression in wheezy as plug and play printing is no longer working as it used in squeeze ! I made some tests with debian 6(live-gnome) and 7 (testing-xfce). Attachment : extracts of /var/log/syslog
