Package: mirrors Severity: normal Tags: d-i Hi dear Debian Mirrors Team,
I would like you to consider including http.debian.net as "GeoDNS" mirror in Mirrors.masterlist. This would allow getting http.debian.net selected as default mirror in debian-installer (choose-mirror). The entry would probably be: Site: http.debian.net Type: GeoDNS Archive-architecture: amd64 armel armhf hurd-i386 i386 ia64 kfreebsd-amd64 kfreebsd-i386 mips mipsel powerpc s390 s390x sparc Airchive-http: /debian/ Backports-http: /debian-backports/ Old-http: /debian-archive/ Archive-upstream: ftp-master.debian.org IPv6: yes Maintainer: Raphael Geissert <rgeiss...@debian.org> Comment: HTTP redirector that uses the geo and network location of the user and the mirrors, the architecture of the requested files, IP address family, the availability and freshness of the mirrors, and a few other things. Details: http://http.debian.net The list of open questions is at least: a) Type: GeoDNS - Does it really make sense ? b) Impact of this change on choose-mirror ? Does it really make http.debian.net appear first ? c) Impact of this change on http.debian.net ? (risk of creating HTTP redirection loops ?) d) Consensus (within the mirrors team, within -boot) that http.d.n is superior to cdn.d.n ? e) status of the integration of http.d.n to http.d.o ? Thanks for considering, cheers, OdyX -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-boot-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
