Hi Michael, Please consider attached patch to fix this issue. It preserves the loop as you asked, and avoids the "gw" keyword on GNU/kFreeBSD since this syntax won't be supported by ifconfig on that platform.
We need this to be solved soon so that we can finish the route transition. I've also found an FTBFS problem which I reported separately. Will you be able to upload a new version in the following days? If you're busy, please let me know and I'll NMU. -- Robert Millan
