As an update, the problem remains on the latest iso image for testing amd64 (August 22nd, 2011 DVD-1). This time I tried it on a different system (a Linux Certified Inc. LC2131 laptop) and it failed with the same error. Once again the logs are not present (I searched for them from a shell given to me by the Debian Installer) and system is unbootable... This is the only way I can install Debian on this new laptop! because it has a new SSD drive that partman-md from Squeeze can't handle and the installation fails too... I'm trying on of those Debian squeeze + kernel from backports iso image to see if I can get a working system and then upgrade from there.... -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-boot-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
