Just for the record, the difference between the size of the binary in busybox-udeb 1.17.1-9 (as is currently in git) when built on i386 with and without vconfig is 384 bytes. vconfig in is 212732, vconfig out is 212348. I built both locally in the same chroot to remove any other biases (gcc version, etc).
