KDE4 has the capability of automatically setting time/date with ntpdate or rdate. However, neither one is installed with a tasksel kde4 desktop. Additionally, the Systems Settings GUI for enabling ntp time checks fails cryptically. It reports an error something like "unable to complete the task."
