Package: os-prober Version: 1.39 Severity: important On an old computer I still use Sarge from time to time (my TV card doesn't work in any later version...). I can boot the system with no problem with chainloading, but I'm unable to boot it directly, although the entries look correctly, e.g.
menuentry "Debian GNU/Linux (3.1) (on /dev/sdb2)" { insmod part_msdos insmod ext2 set root='(hd1,msdos2)' search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set f5ce7115-77d3-433c-9abc-a604aba64dce linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.20-3-k7 root=/dev/sdb2 initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.4.20-3-k7 } After selecting the entry the computer reboots with no error message.
