close 564611 thanks I am closing this bug because as I said there is nothing wrong in console-setup.

Ok, and it is true - I don't know anything about this. But the fact is this happens only while console-setup is not installed so most certainly the problem is somewhere else. > Seems you don't know much about anything. It was automatically installed by the dependency of xserver-xorg(-core) and then removed when this dependency was changed to a dependency on keyboard-configuration. And it is obvious why its removal had such an impact. > I find it quite rude to just say "that's not my responsability" and > not try at all to help users. I agree. I decided that you didn't need help because you fixed your own system. And I think no action is required in any package so it is better to close the bug than to reassign somewhere else. And it would be stupid to tag it 'wontfix' because no fix is necessary. > >Every autoremoval of packages involves the risk to remove a package that > >the user does not want removed. > > If users migrating from Lenny have important packages removed with > the default way of cleaning his system (with apt-get autoremove, as > suggested by the tool itself), then i think this is a problem. Yes, it would be a problem and it would probably mean xserver-xorg has to depend again on console-setup. Fortunately the lenny's version of xserver-xorg doesn't depend on console-setup. > So, why don't you want to help ? Because I don't know what I can do about it. I don't think Debian will be improved in any way if xserver-xorg(-core) depends again on console-setup.
