After doing "dpkg-reconfigure console-setup" and just going forward with the options (not changing anything), the keyboard is well recognized. However, after rebooting some characters are again not recognized (such as 'ç', º or ª). Also, under the ttys and X, the euro (€) and dollar ($) signs that are present above the arrow keys are still not recognized and still produce the same effect on /var/log/Xorg.0.log that I reported earlier.
