I think it could be a media or driver issue. Anyway d-i has no utilities inside of it to mangle CD/DVD medias so if there's a problem here it can be one of the bellow: - driver or DVD/CD media issue - kernel crazyness Please test it again using a new media and if you can confirm it happens please report a bug with a full hardware description against linux-2.6 source package.
