After installation I had a reproducible kerneloops in the radeon kernel module.
Near the oops-report in kern.log I find an error log about unloadable
firmware. As I knew that Debian excludes non-free firmware I searched the web
for the package name, i.e. firmware-linux. I tried to install it but couldn't
locate the package. Thus I looked at /etc/apt/souces.list to verify that
non-free isn't included by default. As changing sources.list isn't something
I'm doing on a regular basis I had to lookup the syntax. After 'apt-get
update' I could install firmware-linux, which made the oops vanish. All in all
this might be a little to much knowledge required by the user to finally be
able to install firmware. One possibility might be to add a question in the
installer, whether contrib and non-free should be included in the generated
sources.list.
Otherwise the installation experience was a bliss. I'm using Debian since
about ten years now and the installation process is getting better and better.

Such question already exists in expert mode.
Given that your installation was a complete success, I do as
usual with reports for successful installations: I close the bug..:-)
This does not of course mean you weren't right to report. Knowing the
installations are correct is important for the d-i team.
