Package: grub-installer
Using daily build images (3 Sept.) and reach stage of GRUB installation appears
the following error when selecting install grub in to MBR:

Configuring Grub
Unable to install GRUB in (hd0)
Executing 'grub-install (hd0)' failed.
This is a fatal error

My system is a HP Laptop nx9040 with a HDD IDE, this error is new because past
daily builds install with out errors.
Looking output in tty4 appers the following:
grub-installer: info: Installing grub on '(hd0)'
grub-installer: info: grub-install supports --no-floppy
grub-installer: info: Running chroot /target grub-install --no-floppy --recheck
"(hd0)"
grub-installer: You shouldn't call /sbin/grub-install. Please call
/usr/sbin/grub-install instead!

grub-installer: Searching for GRUB installation directory ...
grub-installer: found /boot/grub
grub-installer: /usr/sbin/grub-install: line 390: cmp: command not found
grub-installer: /usr/sbin/grub-install: line 390: cmp: command not found

grub-installer: /usr/sbin/grub-install: line 390: cmp: command not found

grub-installer: The file /boot/grub/stage1 not read correctly
grub-installer: error: Running 'grub-install --no-floppy --recheck "(hd0)"
failed.
It appears a regresion from bug: #464146
